9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (plus an evening screening)
Christ Center Community Church
2700 South Lemay Avenue
Join us for a day with film critic and author Jeffrey Overstreet as he shares how movies inspired and rejuvenated his faith and transformed the way he hears God speaking in the world today. The seminar includes a discussion session and a guided tour through a challenging film that can change the way we look at movies, art, and creation.
Jeffrey Overstreet is a film reviewer, novelist, and teacher of creative writing and film studies. His “memoir of dangerous moviegoing,” Through a Screen Darkly, has become a popular textbook in classes on film, faith, and culture. Jeffrey has been writing about the relationship between film and faith for more than 20 years. His movie reviews have appeared in Christianity Today, Image, and other periodicals.
