The History of Christian Futures

May 1, 2017 by FLNC

Faith Literature Author Event
Discussion with author Amy Frykholm

Sunday, May 7, 2017
First United
Methodist Church
1005 Stover Street
Fort Collins
Dessert at 6:30
Program at 7 p.m.

In Christian Understandings of the Future, Amy Frykholm offers a tour through more than two millennia of Christian thought on the future. Starting with the contexts of the Hebrew Bible and moving forward, Frykholm outlines the enduring fascination believers have had with future events and the myriad ways they have articulated their beliefs about what the future holds. From the imperial contexts of the book of Revelation to the end times prophecy of Harold Camping, Frykholm presents a thoughtful and insightful tour.

The FLNC network and FUMC are delighted to welcome back Amy Frykholm as a featured speaker. Amy is an Associate Editor of The Christian Century magazine, for which she writes feature articles and conducts interviews. She holds a PhD in Literature from Duke University and is the author of four books of non-fiction, as well as poetry, and numerous essays.

This event is free and open to the public.  Parking is available at the church.
